Introduction

Wholegreen Bakery is located in Waverly in Sydney’s East, Alexandria in the Inner West and also Sydney’s CBD. They staff at Wholegreen Bakery love making delicious, handmade baked goods which are 100% gluten-free. And you don’t need to come in store for their fresh breads, as they are frequently stocked at many Woolworths Metros stores and Harris Farm Markets, or you can order most of their products for home delivery within NSW and ACT.

They are the proud winners of a gold award at the 2019 Sydney Fine Food Awards for their lemon meringue tart. In 2021 they also won the champion pastry award for their delicious chocolate éclair, which beat entries that were glutenous, demonstrating that gluten-free food can taste just as good as – or even better in this case – gluten-containing food.

A lot of our customers have no dietary restrictions – they come to Wholegreen because they just love our food. Every single thing on our counter is delicious, fresh, handmade and 100% gluten-free, but a lot of their customers don’t even have a gluten intolerance or dietry restrictions, they simply enjoy the variety of fresh food on offer at Wholegreen Bakery.

Wholegreen Bakery was founded by Cherie Lyden, a nutritionist and foodie as a response to not being able to find any great gluten free food that wasn’t overly sweet or packed with additives for her youngest daughter who in 2014 was diagnosed as coeliac. Cherie was not only able to develop great tasting gluten free recipes, but also food that was healthy, contained less sugar and zero additives, whilst using fresh, seasonal produce. Cherie’s passion project has now evolved into an award-winning bakery and café which is renowned for producing food that’s both delicious and 100% gluten-free.

Cherie’s tightknit and passionate food loving team are driven to creating the most delicious bread, cakes, pies and pastries possible, all competly by hand, and using the freshest seasonal ingredients available. Cherie and her team are constantly striving towards taking gluten-free food to the next level who delight at seeing the huge smiles on their customers faces, who enjoy all the hard work that Cherie and her staff put in to making such delicious, fresh and 100% gluten free food.
